The Single-Stage Approach (SSA) is a streamlined implant placement protocol where the dental implant and the healing abutment are placed in

Guided extraction and implant placement sequence

A. Crown sectioning

Approximately two-third reduction of the natural crown to gain controlled access through the furcation, minimizing trauma and facilitating atraumatic extraction.

B. Septal view – socket condition

Post-extraction, the socket remains intact with preserved interradicular septum and buccolingual bone profile. No cortical perforation noted.

C. Implant placement (IS II)

Immediate implant insertion achieving primary stability within the fresh socket. Implant angulation and positioning demonstrate optimal alignment for future emergence profile.

D. Sealing Socket Abutment placement

SSA installed to seal the socket and maintain soft-tissue architecture, preventing collapse of the peri-implant mucosa during healing.

E. Early healing

Soft tissue begins to contour naturally around the abutment, showing healthy color and no dehiscence.

F. Late healing stage

Peri-implant tissues exhibit progressive maturation with preserved volume and integrated gingival profile appropriate for definitive restoration.

Sealing Socket Abutment

The healing abutment is fully seated, providing biological sealing and shaping of the emergence profile. No inflammatory response is noted. Uniform tissue adaptation to adjacent teeth suggests stable socket preservation.

Peri-implant tissue / EBC zone

Evaluation of the EBC (Emergence Buccal Contour) area demonstrates advanced soft-tissue healing. Keratinized mucosa gain is evident, with well-formed buccal and proximal contours that indicate predictable conditions for final prosthetic rehabilitation

Final restoration

Occlusal final view. The definitive crown exhibits harmonious occlusal anatomy, proper proximal contacts, and shade integration with neighboring teeth. The peri-implant mucosa remains healthy, with stable marginal seal and no mucositis.
